Experience
As a tutor, I remind myself every day that, for my students, I need to be the person I myself needed 10 years ago as a student. This perspective motivated me during my one-on-one tutoring experience with a supplemental tutoring service company. Through that job, I gained expertise in tutoring students in elementary school writing and math, middle school writing and math, pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, algebra 3 and 4, pre-calculus, and various AP Studio Art classes. One of my favorite memories from that time is when each of my students that semester thanked me for helping them and giving them educational guidance. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration from California State University, Long Beach. My long-term goal is to teach at the university level, and I believe that continuing my work as a tutor is a natural step toward achieving that dream. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, video and tabletop gaming, and reading fantasy novels, teen fiction, and graphic novels.
